North London trio Zibra- made up of Sam Battle, Russell Jones and Ben Everest- debuted at the start of 2015 with ‘EP1000’. It’s lead single, ‘Chlorine’ caught attention with it’s synth-orientated sound complete with a lo-fi video and Zibra’s black-clad, post-punk aesthetic. Follow-ups ‘EP2000’ and ‘EP3000’ soon followed, producing songs like tongue-in-cheek ‘Paris’ and synth-infused Britpop tune ‘Flats In Dagenham’. This led to the three-piece touring with a handful of bands such as fellow hot prospect Rat Boy, appearing at Glastonbury and playing a Maida Vale session for Radio 1.

Zibra basically sound like The 1975 and Depeche Mode had a baby. Some tracks suggest Crystal Castles inspiration too. Their track ‘Goodbye Mondays’ found it’s way onto the FIFA 16 soundtrack alongside British indie titans Foals, Bastille and Swim Deep. Latest single ‘Wasted Days’, is as close to the mainstream as they’ve came, and resulted in it being used in several TV adverts. They’ve had plenty of exposure at the end of 2015 which should set them up for an exciting 2016.
