Alt rock band Hey Gigantic have released a new single titled ‘Fools‘. The band, from Essex and based in South London, have had their sound compared to that of Twin Atlantic, You Me At Six and Biffy Clyro. I would say those comparisons are pretty fair as it’s that big rock sound with the heavy drums and powerful vocals from frontman Jonny Bateman.
Hey Gigantic’s second single of the years brings a grungier sound. Despite the moody feeling of the song that comes through at first listen, there’s a deeper meaning and Jonny insists the message is a positive one:
”It’s about trying your best to see the positives in society and the world around us, when all we’re being fed is the negatives. Sometimes it’s a fight to retain that feeling of youthful optimism and patience with people as we grow older, but it’s essential we do and keep an open and positive mind”.
