Lake Acacia Head for the Hills in New Video

Lake Acacia have released a video for their recent single ‘Hold Fast‘.

The band from Banbury in Oxfordshire is made up of Adam Budd, Tim Groethe and Joe Homer. The alternative rock trio have had their big sound and heavy riffs to those of Royal Blood and Don Broco.

After forming in 2016, they had no desire to waste time in anonymity. They moved to capital to make a name for themselves, but ended up receiving support from BBC Introducing Oxford and decided to try and crack their local scene. Since then, they’ve played at venues in Banbury, the O2 Academy and Bullingdon in Oxford, and venues in Bristol and Birmingham more recently.

Lake Acacia released their debut EP titled ‘Figure Frame‘ at the end of last year which received positive reviews for it’s ‘well-crafted’ and ‘multi-dimensional’ songs. They’re now working on a follow-up.

Burton Dassett Hills country park in nearby Warwickshire was the location of the shoot for the new video. It sees the Lake Acacia boys playing in front of a backdrop of rolling hills and also features ‘An Inspector Calls’ actor Jason Farries.

Throughout the three and a half minute video, Jason portrays the five stages of a psychologist’s theory of how we deal with grief. After the breakdown of a relationship, the character experiences denial, anger, bargaining, depression and acceptance. Each stage of the process is triggered when he stumbles across a prop that brings back memories of the past relationship.
